Take an old 1920s cinema, abandoned for decades. Plan radical restoration works to return the cinema auditorium to its former Art Nouveau glory. And, lastly, install a library in the renewed facility. That is precisely what has happened with the former Cinema Italia at Oriago. After two years work, the Mira Town Council has completed the conversion of the cinema into a library and cultural center (for a cost of over 2 million euro).
This architectural gem really is worth a visit, especially because of its perfect Art Nouveau gallery, bounded by a balcony and supported by columns. On the top floor is a one-hundred seat room for conferences, meetings, and cultural events. The library is open every day except Sundays and Holidays
